A resolved target before technical development begins.

Ivy Shoal develops the visual and material definition of a watch before production CAD and engineering begin.

The goal is straightforward: resolve what the product should be — its architecture, proportions, details, materials and character — so the technical team has a clear design target to develop.

What you can hire Ivy Shoal for

01

Pre-developed Concepts

Original watch concepts developed independently by Ivy Shoal. A client can select an existing direction and commission agreed adaptations to its brand, collection and intended specifications. Availability, exclusivity and usage rights are established for each concept.

02

Bespoke Concept Development

An original watch direction developed around a client’s brief. From initial exploration through final resolution, the architecture, proportions, dial, details, materials and overall visual language are developed as one coherent product.

03

Collection Architecture

A shared design language developed across multiple watches or variants. Ivy Shoal defines what remains consistent, what changes, and how individual references relate while maintaining their own identity.

What gets resolved

From architecture to material.

A project may resolve case and bezel architecture, dial composition and hierarchy, handset, indices and applied furniture, typography, crown and exterior details, bracelet or strap direction, proportions, color, material and finish.

Where appropriate, the work may also establish target dimensions, design specifications, material-integration concepts and controlled variants.

How an engagement works

Discovery→Brief→Explore→Resolve→Hand Off
01

Discovery

A complimentary 20–30 minute conversation to understand the project, where it currently stands, intended scope, and whether Ivy Shoal and the client are a good fit for one another.

02

Brief

Establish the product objective, intended customer, brand context, constraints and agreed deliverables.

03

Explore

Develop and compare the directions necessary to find the right answer.

04

Resolve

Bring the selected architecture, details, proportions and CMF into a coherent whole.

05

Hand Off

Present and document the approved design intent for the next stage of technical development.

For a pre-developed concept, exploration begins with an existing Ivy Shoal direction. For bespoke work, it begins with the client’s brief.

What you receive

More than a render.

A full engagement concludes with a design-intent package built around the approved product direction.

  • Resolved design direction
  • Presentation imagery
  • CMF and material direction
  • Target dimensions and design specifications
  • Agreed variants
  • Key design decisions
  • Visual documentation communicating what should be preserved during technical development

Exact deliverables, revision rounds, image count and variants are defined in the project proposal before work begins.

We give your technical team a resolved target.

Ivy Shoal’s work is intended to proceed to the client’s CAD designer, engineer, OEM, case maker or manufacturing partner.

Production CAD, engineering drawings, production tolerancing, movement integration, DFM, prototyping, tooling and manufacturing validation remain part of the subsequent technical-development process.

Ivy Shoal resolves the design intent. Your technical partners determine how it is engineered and manufactured.

Engagements

Rights

Defined with the work.

Project rights and exclusivity are established in the proposal. Commercial use of an approved execution may be included according to the engagement, while broader exclusivity, acquisition or full intellectual-property assignment may require separate terms and fees.
